The fundamental goal of the Observatory is the establishment of a multidimensional Specialized Research Programme that will deal exclusively with the analysis of the (geo)political, economic and institutional aspects of European Energy Policy and the way it interacts with Greek Energy Policy. The Observatory aspires to become a two-way scientific/research channel through which, on the one hand, the E.U.’s energy policies and priorities will be diffused to Greece and via Greece to the wider Black Sea and Middle East region, and on the other hand, the Greek energy policies will be communicated to a European, regional and international level. For this exact reason the Products/Deliverables of the Observatory will be uploaded on its website in four different languages, English, Greek, Russian and Arabic. The Deliverables of the Observatory will analyze from a European and Hellenic perspective, both on a micro and macro-level, the regional, European and international energy developments monitored through three major policy parameters: (1) The Institutional / Strategic Parameter: The Re-organization of European Institutions Shaping EU Energy Policy after the Lisbon Treaty and the Union’s Crisis Management/Prevention Policies regarding the security of energy supply. (2) The Geopolitical Parameter: Energy as a component of the Union’s Foreign Relations with an emphasis on EU policies vis-à-vis OPEC, Russia, the U.S., as well as the states of the Caspian Sea/Central Asian, South East Europe and the Mediterranean region. (3) The Environmental Parameter: E.U. policies for the Combat of Climate Change the 20-20-20 Strategy, on Efficiency, Renewable Energy Sources and Biofuels. The Deliverables of the Observatory will be uploaded on its website on a weekly, monthly, semi-annual and yearly basis:
